A son asked his father, 'Dad, will you take part in a marathon with me?' The father who, despite having a heart condition, says 'Yes'. They went on to complete the marathon together. Father and son went on to join other marathons, the father always saying 'Yes' to his son's request of going through the race together. One day, the son asked his father, 'Dad, let's join the Ironman together.'
To which, his father said 'Yes' too. For those who didn't know, Ironman is the toughest triathlon ever. The race encompasses three endurance events of a 2.4 mile (3.86 kilometer) ocean swim, followed by a 112 mile (180.2 kilometer) bike ride, and ending with a 26.2 mile (42.195 kilometer) marathon along the coast of the Big Island .
Father and son went on to complete the race together.
Another favorite video of mine, unbelievable. See it to believe!
Right after I came home from work at around 3:30pm, the sun was brightly up and it was good to feel the afternoon breeze despite the heat in the afternoon. I always loved the shade the trees in our little home gave us. So I took a shot of the blue sky.
Strolled down our dead end street, took a shot of my shadow. Experimenting on something. I love capturing events on my life because we never know when will be our last day on earth. Pictures are evidences that we were brought to life by God with every single day and moment we treasure it as He treasured each one of us. Pictures are hard copy of memories we will never forget.
I took a shot of our rooftop with the bright sun. Lovely.
Of course, I do not forget to clean my bike, Marinoni. She's all I;ve got for my daily transpo. :)
Eliot was born with an undeveloped lung, a heart with a hole in it and DNA that placed faulty information into each and every cell of his body. However, that could not stop the living God from proclaiming Himself through this boy who never uttered a word.
Run every race like it's suicide: and it's a perfect day to die
I run because I can. When I get tired, I remember those who can't run, what they'd give to have this simple gift I take for granted, and I run harder for them. I know they would do the same for me.
If I am still standing at the end of the race, hit me with a board and knock me down, because that means I didn't run hard enough.
Losers look what they are going through. Winners look where they are going to.
Once that distance had been passed in training, an important physical and psychological threshold had been crossed. It was no longer a question of *if* it could be done. Rather, it became a question of *how fast* it could be done.
Decide before the race the conditions that will cause you to stop and drop out. You don't want to be out there saying, Well gee, my leg hurts, I'm a little dehydrated, I'm sleepy, I'm tired, and its cold and windy. And talk yourself into quitting. If you are making a decision based on how you feel at that moment, you will probably make the wrong decision.
Conditions are never just right. People who delay action until all factors are favorable do nothing.
In that he didn't die at the finish line, he could have run fasterNow if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired. When you were younger the mind could make you dance all night, and the body was never tired. You've always got to make the mind take over and keep going. Enjoy your pain, you've earned it. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit. Just because your muscles start to protest doesn't mean you have to listen. Champions are made when no one is watching.
The greatest pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do. The only way to be who you want to be is by being what you haven't yet been. To describe the agony of a marathon to someone who's never run it is like trying to explain color to someone who was born blind. I do today what you won't so I can do tomorrow what you can't. You can rest when you're dead.
Man imposes his own limitations, don't set any.
There will be days when I don't know if I can run a marathon. There will be a lifetime knowing that I have. Do or do not. There is no try. Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go. There are clubs you can't belong to, neighborhoods you wont live in, Schools you can't get into, But the roads are always open.
Opportunity is often passed up because it is disguised as hard work.
If you can't learn anything from losing, don't lose.
If a man coaches himself, then he has only himself to blame when he is beaten.
I've never been beaten by the guy behind me.
Obstacles are what you see when you take your eyes off the goal.
The body does not want you to do this. As you run, it tells you to stop but the mind must be strong. You always go too far for your body. You must handle the pain with strategy...It is not age; it is not diet. It is the will to succeed.
As is true with life and in the gym-if you are willing to pay the price that others will not-you will reap the benefits that others will not
Running is different from other sports, all the others require just one ball Having a true faith is the most difficult thing in the world. Many will try to take it from you.
We are different, in essence, from other men. If you want to win something, run 100 meters. If you want to experience something, run a marathon. Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows that it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows that it must out run the slowest gazelle or it will starve. It does not matter whether you are a lion or gazelle. When the sun comes up you had better be running. Pass the weak, hurdle the dead.
I’ll train like a madman, un loco. Well, not like a madman, perhaps, but as if it were my last race.
You can never run a hill too hard, you will collapse before hurting it.
Every man dies, but not every man really lives.
Running is a four weather sport.
Anybody running beats anybody walking, and anybody walking beats anybody sitting. Mental fortitude is more important than physical endurance. Nothing worth having is easy.
Win: What’s Important Now
2nd place is the first loser.
As is true with life and in the run-if you are willing to pay the price that others will not-you will reap the benefits that others will not

I created my very first facebook account because I was invited by the moderator, Kee Haekyung. :) It's really a nice site. I am looking forward to meet new friends here and abroad. :) I am glad to meet you in facebook also. A lot of games, applications and a lot more.
When my Mom and Dad came home from the US, they bought us this delicious Poptarts as pasalubong for us. Hmm really yummy. There are strawberry, chocolate and cinnamon flavors to choose from. Here are the pics. :) A one big box with four boxes of full yummy treats. This is best to eat when heated first inside the oven toaster or microwaved. :)
Pop-Tarts is the brand name for a flat rectangulartoaster pastry approximately 3 inches (7.6 cm) by 5.5 inches (14 cm) made by the Kellogg Company. Pop-Tarts have a sugary filling sealed inside two layers of rectangular, thin pastry crust; each layer of this crust is about 0.1 inches (2.5 mm) thick. Most varieties have frosting, but some do not. They can be eaten without being warmed, but are often warmed inside a toaster. They can also be microwaved but only for a few seconds or else the filling hardens into a solid. Recently, certain varieties have been marketed as tasting best when left to cool in the freezer. They are usually sold in pairs inside foil packages, and do not require refrigeration.
On July 29-August 24, 2008- a stage play will be held at the CCP Main Theater with our very own Ms.Lea Salonga as the main character alongside with her prince. I am definitely going to watch this one. :)
This was featured in Oprah yesternight and It is a movie musical. I love it. Directed by Julie Taymor who brought The Lion King on stage play now seen in South Africa.
Feeling a little down in the dumps 'cause it's another lonely night? So you’ve noticed that you’re the only one in your circle of friends who isn’t attached, engaged, or married? Snap out of it! Being single is not a curse.
If you're already hearing yourself saying, "I NEED a boyfriend," you're virtually admitting that you are pathetic. Remember, it's a desperate woman's mantra. Wanting to be loved and to be in a relationship is just normal; but you have to realize that if you love yourself more, you will become a better person.
"Being single affords each of us the opportunity to discover who we are, what we do and don't like, how we deal with things, what we want out of life, what our expectations are, what our potentials and limitations are, what energizes and empowers us, and what discourages and disappoints us," says Sherry Obenauer M.Ed., M.A.
If you learn to satisfy yourself and meet your needs, you would be able to share yourself to someone as a whole. Having someone else to fill in the gaps and trying to get from someone what is lacking in you could lead to disappointments and resentments.
“Treat yourself the way you want that someone special to treat you,” suggests Milton, Massachusetts-based life coach Kathleen Hassan. “Learn to love and accept yourself—just the way you are. Know that you’re worthy and deserving of only the best. Attracting love into your life starts by developing the attraction factor from the inside out.”
There's no reason to feel pathetic if you’re living a fulfilling life. So, why not make the most of it? Sit back, have a soda, and try belching as loud as you can! -by Chamie Castillo

I want to share to everyone this very inspiring song that made my life what I am now. It also gave me the great hope despite the failures I have encountered in life. Now I see the road to where I should be, pursuing on my dreams. This defintely changed my life. Juts give it all to God. He knows what's best for you. To anyone who needs strength, here's the song read through the lyrics, reflect and God will listen and He will lead you to the path.
Another day is almost over in a few hours. Finally, I did know how to handle my time and how to spend it wisely. Time flies so fast when you enjoy your work and satisfied with the simple life that has been given to you. So do I. Actually, I believe in the saying, " When you give your best, the best comes back to you." I received a handful of blessings here and there and I keep thanking God everyday for all the goodness He has given and bestowed upon me. I know I do not have a perfect life. I am not rich to buy a jaguar car or a luxurious mansion. I do not even have a one million pesos in my bank account. I am this simple. I buy and eat taho when Manong visits our street. Eating balot is one of my favorite food trips to do. I go to malls but not to buy extravagant things but to roam around, go windowshopping until my feet get tired and then I go home so to sleep. Oftentimes, after a hard day's work, I reward myself with an ice cream since it is one of my favorite pastime to do when I just feel like to eat something. One more thing, I love to eat and my favorite is the MONAY still and Baguio's Good Shepherd's ube. WOW! Feels like heaven. I commute to places I want to go by jeepney, bus, tricycle, FX, LRT, MRT because until now even if I want to drive,I do not want to. I am scared of driving in the Metro area. I am a walkathon girl. I bike everyday from house to work and back. That saves gas and money. Lucky for me to be working near my home. I go to church from work to pray. I often meet my friends for coffeetalks and bonding moments. Movie watching maybe once in a while with friends. Music matching with playing guitar and piano are usually my past time. Listening to FM radio to the funniest, famous commentative station geared with sounds and music of different genres. Twice a month, I do the groceries and pay the bills at home. This is my life. I just live a simple life by making looking at things perfectly. Changing your points of view and opening your mind and accept things as it should be. No to selfish desires. Control yourself. Live life, love yourself.
Yep, Je2... it's been awhile - :) Still really miss the good old days when the Pax choir consisted of just 7. They're alot successful now... even to the point where they were able to enter the Coro Tomasino. This is all thanks to the valiant efforts of Ate Lala, Kuya Tony, Carla, Kuya RenRen & you... without you five, i guess we couldn't have made a loud enough cry to merit enough attention to make known to the admin that such a choir existed! - Thank You! :) As I leave the college, I know that our once humble Pax Romana Choir is now not just a quintet with strings & keys accompaniment... (although, it was fun back then! :P )
je, how can i get through all these kung wala kayo? thank you so much... i never thought i'd make it to another month. but now, it seems i'm practically better without him. thank you tlaga... love you, ate je!
When things go wrong as they sometimes will; When the road you're trudging seems all uphill; When the funds are low, and the debts are high And you want to smile, but have to sigh; When care is pressing you down a bit- Rest if you must, but do not quit.
Success is failure turned inside out; The silver tint of the clouds of doubt; And you can never tell how close you are It may be near when it seems so far; So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit- It's when things go wrong that you must not quit.
